On January 11, I watched the movie Brave. The movie was based on the game 'Temple Run; Brave'. The game wasn't really that fun but the movie was much better. The movie brave was a really good one, but was a lot different from what I expected. What I expected from seeing the movie trailer and game was a story of a girl getting lost in the wood, chased by a bear, and finding her way home. The movie was totally different. The princess was even trying to run away from her home. The movie was about a Scottish princess changing her fate. I think the movie was fun because it was educational and hard to predict.
First,I think the movie is educational because it teaches about responsibility, understanding people and parent love. The main character, Merida, had to marry a prince and behave like a princess. That wouldn't have been hard for any other princesses but Merida was a free spirit and wanted to act on her own. Another thing was that her mother was very strict about behaviors of princesses. That didn't change until Merida accidentally turned her mom into a bear. Merida denied that she caused her mother to change but later, she was very willing to change her mother back and accepted her fault and I think that changed her mother back into human. Also, her mother said that she could choose her husband, whoever she wanted and whenever she wanted it. This includes all three things that I mentioned before. First, she was to blame for changing her mom into a bear and she was responsible for changing her back. Also, she understood her mother and how she always wanted the best of her. Moreover, she loved her mother so she changed her back into human.
Second, the movie was really hard to predict. I thought there would be more running and in a larger scale. However, it was only in the castle or around it. Also, I thought the witch was supposed to be evil and keep Merida from changing her mother. I guessed that from normal witches (which are evil) and how she controlled the sharp objects toward Merida. However, she wasn't evil, but helpful. She just forgot what the potion was meant to do. And later, she mentioned how to unlock her mother's curse. However, there are some weird things about this witch. Why would she put on a spell if she wanted it to be broken anyway? Also, why did she get the medalion from Merida and what was that supposed to mean? Anyway, getting all of my predictions wrong was sort of funny.
I think this movie was fun and touching. If I get the chance, I would like to see it again. Because of this movie I learned that I should respect my parents and listen to others. I think this movie has some important values, such as respecting others, and listening to others. I hope I can improve these too.

I was surprised by this movie, too. Isn't it great when a movie does surprise you?
